Sami Salo, D, Vancouver CanucksFriday 11/2, 9:52 PM CT
Sami Salo broke his nose Thursday and is out of the lineup indefinitely. He may need to have a metal plate inserted in his nose.
Alexander Semin, LW, Washington CapitalsFriday 11/2, 9:41 PM CT
Alexander Semin missed another game Friday due to his sore right ankle, and he may not play again for a while. Caps coach Glen Hanlon said that Semin, Tom Poti and Chris Clark all may stay at home when the team travels for a three-game road trip on Monday, according to the AP. Keep all three on your bench until we hear some more positive news.

The Kings placed Kyle Calder on injured reserve on Friday. He has an injured left thumb that will cause him to miss at least the next week of action. Calder has three goals and six points in 13 contests this season.
Niclas Wallin, D, Carolina HurricanesFriday 11/2, 9:30 PM CT
Niclas Wallin will undergo surgery on his right shoulder on Saturday, according to SportsTicker. He's expected to require three to four weeks of recovery time. Wallin has just one point and 12 PIM in 11 games this season.
Alexander Semin, LW, Washington CapitalsFriday 11/2, 1:12 PM CT
Alexander Semin did not play in Thursday’s game against the Maple Leafs. He aggravated the right ankle injury that caused him to miss time earlier this season and was unable to play.

Bryan McCabe isn't expected to be with the Maple Leafs on their upcoming road trip. He's battling a groin injury.
Chris Osgood, G, Detroit Red WingsFriday 11/2, 9:22 AM CT
Chris Osgood stopped 26 of 27 shots at Calgary Thursday, improving his record to 7-0. He's also got a sterling 1.43 goals-against average and a snappy .936 save percentage, numbers that all but guarantee that he'll still see a fair share of work even when Dominik Hasek returns to action (presumably next week).
Mike Richards, C, Philadelphia FlyersFriday 11/2, 9:18 AM CT
Mike Richards had a power-play goal in Thursday's loss at Montreal. The surprising Richads now has seven goals and 13 points in just 11 games.
Johan Hedberg, G, Atlanta ThrashersFriday 11/2, 9:11 AM CT
Johan Hedberg was removed from Thursday's game after allowing four goals on 19 shots at Ottawa. He wasn't the first goalie to look bad against the Senators, and he won't be the last, but this could clear the way for Ondrej Pavelec to get a start Saturday.
Henrik Zetterberg, LW, Detroit Red WingsFriday 11/2, 9:08 AM CT
Henrik Zetterberg was named the NHL's Player of the Month for October, on the base of his 11-11-22 line over his first 13 games. He kept the ball rolling in the new month, potting two goals in Thursday's victory at Calgary.
Dan Ellis, G, Nashville PredatorsFriday 11/2, 9:06 AM CT
Dan Ellis earned his third win in a row and his second shutout in three starts Thursday, stopping all 29 shots at Vancoucer. Looks like we won't be seeing Chris Mason for a while.
