The Oilers recalled Bryan Young from Springfield of the AHL on Sunday. He had one assist and 12 penalty minutes in 12 contests with Springfield.
David Krejci, C, Boston BruinsSunday 11/4, 4:34 PM CT
The Bruins assigned David Krejci to Providence of the AHL Sunday to open a roster spot for Petteri Nokelainen. Krejci had three assists in 12 games for Boston this year.
Petteri Nokelainen, C, Boston BruinsSunday 11/4, 4:33 PM CT
The Bruins recalled Petteri Nokelainen from the AHL on Sunday. Acquired on September 11 from the Islanders, Nokelainen recorded three goals and five assists in eight games with Providence this season.
Jason Spezza, C, Ottawa SenatorsSunday 11/4, 11:21 AM CT
Jason Spezza will sit out his third straight game Sunday. He's dealing with a nagging groin injury.
Tim Thomas, G, Boston BruinsSunday 11/4, 11:13 AM CT
Tim Thomas stopped 42 of 45 shots in Saturday's 3-2 loss to Ottawa. It was only the outstanding play of Thomas that kept the Bruins in the game.
Alex Auld, G, Ottawa SenatorsSunday 11/4, 11:10 AM CT
Alex Auld allowed four goals on 38 shots in Saturday's loss to Phoenix. Auld couldn't be faulted on most of the goals; two of them came on 5-on-3 situations, and the Coyotes defense was running around most of the night.
Patrice Bergeron, C, Boston BruinsSunday 11/4, 8:26 AM CT
The Bruins are considering placing Patrice Bergeron on long-term injured reserve due to his Grade III concussion. He would then be required to miss 24 days and 10 games due to the injury, which means he wouldn't be eligible to play until Nov. 24, according to the Boston Globe. Since he's expected to miss at least a month, it's unlikely that he would be ready before then.
Dominik Hasek, G, Detroit Red WingsSunday 11/4, 8:08 AM CT
Dominik Hasek tested his sore hip in practice on Saturday. Things went well enough that he's expected to be available for Wednesday's game, according to the Detroit Free Press. It's not clear yet whether he or Chris Osgood will start that game, but since Ozzy's been red hot, the Wings may opt to give Hasek a little extra time to rest up.
Pavol Demitra, LW, Vancouver CanucksSunday 11/4, 12:52 AM CT
Pavol Demitra left Saturday's game in the third period with a leg injury. It's not clear yet how serious the injury is; keep in mind he just returned from a groin injury earlier this week.
Patrick Sharp, LW, Chicago BlackhawksSunday 11/4, 12:50 AM CT
Patrick Sharp had two shorthanded goals in Saturday's win at St. Louis. Sharp is a role player for the Blackhawks, but he's got the talent to be a 25-30 goal man someday if the club gives him a little power-play time.
Ilya Kovalchuk, LW, Atlanta ThrashersSunday 11/4, 12:08 AM CT
Ilya Kovalchuk had his second consecutive hat trick Saturday, and added an assist, as the Thrashers rallied past Tampa Bay. One of the goals came shorthanded.
Miroslav Satan, RW, Pittsburgh PenguinsSunday 11/4, 12:03 AM CT
Miroslav Satan had two goals and was plus-3 in Saturday's victory over the Penguins. Finally some production here, as he had just one tally on the year entering Saturday.
