Jaromir Jagr, RW, Saturday 11/17, 11:29 PM CT
Jaromir Jagr had no points, and no shots on goal, in Saturday's overtime victory at Pittsburgh. Although Jagr has 17 points on the year, he's scored just four goals and his shots per start have dropped dramatically (55 over 20 games).
Ilya Bryzgalov, G, Phoenix CoyotesSaturday 11/17, 11:26 PM CT
Ilya Bryzgalov made a snappy debut with the Coyotes Saturday, stopping all 28 shots in a win at Los Angeles. Freshly claimed off waivers from the Ducks, Bryzgalov met most of his new teammates a few hours before Saturday's game.
Simon Gagne, LW, Philadelphia FlyersSaturday 11/17, 9:36 AM CT
Simon Gagne was able to ride a stationary bike for about 20 minutes yesterday, his longest workout since sustaining a concussion. "[As far as skating], it's definitely something I want to do. Skating might be the best way to know how I feel," he told the Philadelphia Inquirer. Clearly, he'll need to skate without his concussion symptoms returning before he gets back into game action, so it's still going to be quite a while before he plays.
Cory Murphy, D, Florida PanthersSaturday 11/17, 9:31 AM CT
Cory Murphy is dealing with a bruised shoulder. The injury kept him from practicing on Friday, according to the Miami Herald. The Panthers consider him to be doubtful for Saturday's game.
Rostislav Olesz, LW, Florida PanthersSaturday 11/17, 9:29 AM CT
Rostislav Olesz has been testing his surgically repaired hand by taking shots, according to the Miami Herald. It appears that he could play as soon as Saturday.
Martin Straka, RW, New York RangersSaturday 11/17, 9:24 AM CT
Martin Straka was able to skate on Wednesday. However, he's not expected to return to action for another 7-10 days, according to the New York Daily News. He should come back from his broken finger by the end of the month.
Tim Connolly, C, Buffalo SabresSaturday 11/17, 9:21 AM CT
Tim Connolly skated on Friday. He said he's now aiming to return to game action on Wednesday, according to the Buffalo News. Connolly has been out with an abdominal strain, but it looks like he should be back on the ice soon.
Manny Fernandez, G, Boston BruinsSaturday 11/17, 9:09 AM CT
Manny Fernandez plans to take a course of action to get back into games without undergoing surgery on his ailing knee. He's going to get back on his skates, try to build up strength in the joint and hope that will do the trick, according to the Boston Globe. Basically, surgery would cost him the rest of the season, so he's taking this approach as a last-ditch attempt to play again this season. Stay tuned.
