Kris Draper sprained his left knee during Tuesday's game. "Hopefully, next weekend I can try to skate," Draper said, according to the Detroit Free Press. "I've been able to do all the stuff (the trainers) have wanted. So, strength-wise, hopefully I can kind of maintain it." He'll have to be fitted for a brace before hitting the ice, but it sounds like Drapes won't be suiting up this week.

Joe Sakic was unable to play on Saturday due to his sore groin. Sakic had played in 232 consecutive before missing Saturday's tilt, so it must have been a decent concern for the Avs. No news yet on whether he'll miss anymore action.

Stephen Weiss took part in a full work out before Saturday's game, but he was unable to take part in the contest. "Hopefully, he should be back next week," coach Jacques Martin told the Miami Herald. Weiss took a hard hit during Thursday's game, though it appears he did not sustain a conucssion. With any luck, he won't miss any more action.

Dmitri Kalinin was able to skate Saturday for the first time since spraining his MCL. He's expected to continue working out while the Sabres are traveling this week, according to the Buffalo News. There's still no timetable set for his return, but it likely will be at least another week or two.
