Ray Emery was not in goal Thursday after exiting Wednesday's contest with a hip injury. Martin Gerber started between the pipes and stopped 26-of-27 shots on goal to earn a win over the Penguins. It's not clear when Emery will be ready to get back into a game, but Gerber will continue to start in the interim.

The NHL has suspended Scott Walker one game for head-butting Mike Fisher during a fight on Wednesday. Even hockey has it's limits when it comes to fighting. Walker will miss Friday's skate against the Flames, so keep him on your bench.

Teppo Numminen was cleared to resume practicing on Monday. The defenseman took part in his first skate on Thursday since undergoing heart surgery in September, according to the AP. Coach Lindy Ruff said he didn't expect Numminen to take part in a game for at least another month.
