Chris Pronger, D, Anaheim DucksSunday 2/17, 10:33 PM CT
Chris Pronger scored a goal and added a helper in the Ducks 4-2 victory on Sunday night over the Flames. Pronger continues to put together possibly the best all-around fantasy season by any defenseman not on the Wings as he now has 12 goals, 29 assists and 110 PIM. Continue to roll him out there without a second thought.
Daymond Langkow, C, Calgary FlamesSunday 2/17, 10:29 PM CT
Daymond Langkow scored a goal, his 24th of the season, in the Flames 4-2 loss to the Ducks on Sunday night. Daymond now has a goal in 3-straight games and he has seven markers in his last 11 games. Not a player to tie your team's fortunes to, Langkow is a fantastic support player who now has 50 points in 58 games on the year.
Miikka Kiprusoff, G, Calgary FlamesSunday 2/17, 10:25 PM CT
Miikka Kiprusoff was shelled for four goals on 26 shots on Sunday night as he was lifted for Curtis Joseph after two periods of action. Given the fact that Kipper allowed six goals on 25 shots on Friday night, it's safe to say that he is in a pretty major mini-slump. For what it's worth, Kipper has seen his GAA go up the past three years while his SV% has gone down, and those aren't the kind of trends we like to see.
Ryan Getzlaf, C, Anaheim DucksSunday 2/17, 10:21 PM CT
Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and an assist on Sunday night for the Ducks to extend his point streak to four games. Getzlaf's goal was his first since January 20th, a stretch of 12-games, so it was nice to see him get that monkey off his back. Still, over his last six games he has six points so he continues to put points on the board.
Brian Rolston, LW, New Jersey DevilsSunday 2/17, 10:07 PM CT
Brian Rolston missed his first game of the season on Sunday night as he was forced out due to the flu. Rolston is quite possibly the Wilds best all-around skater, and his offense isn't too bad either with 23 goals, six of them game winners. Look for him to return to the lineup as soon as he gets over his case of the sniffles.
Alexander Radulov, RW, Nashville PredatorsSunday 2/17, 10:05 PM CT
Alexander Radulov had two assists on Sunday night to raise his season total to 25 on the season. Radulov also has 23 goals for the Predators. Since January 21st, a span of 14 games, the Preds second year scoring star has 10 goals and six assists, and for those of you without a calculator, that's more than a point-per-game.
Martin Erat, RW, Nashville PredatorsSunday 2/17, 10:01 PM CT
Martin Erat had a goal and an assist on Sunday night, the second time in four games and the third time in seven games that he has left the ice with a goal and an assist in a game. Erat has put together a fine season for the Predators with 44 points in 55 games and he is on pace for his second straight 55+ point season. Erat isn't a big name, and he has never scored more than 20 goals, but he is just five points away from his fourth straight year of at least 49 points which marks him as a fine complementary player.
Pavol Demitra, LW, Vancouver CanucksSunday 2/17, 9:57 PM CT
Pavol Demitra had two assists and was a +2 on Sunday night for the Wild. As is his M.O., Demitra has been in and out of the lineup with a myriad of injuries, but all along he has been able to put up points as is evident by his total of 38 of them in 46 games. He should continue right along with a near point-per-game pace when he is on the ice as he owns a career mark of 0.94 points-per-game.
Marian Gaborik, RW, Minnesota WildSunday 2/17, 9:53 PM CT
Marian Gaborik scored the game-winning goal with 4.4 seconds left in OT, his second tally of the game, in the Wild's 5-4 victory over the Predators. He also added an assist. Gaborik is up to 32 goals and 62 points in 54 games with a +11 on the year. He has a shot at his career-high of 38 goals if he can stay healthy the rest of the way as he is yet again proving himself to be one of the most dynamic players in the NHL.
Teemu Selanne, RW, Anaheim DucksSunday 2/17, 9:13 PM CT
Teemu Selanne became the Ducks all-time leading scorer on Sunday with his 670th point in his seven seasons with the club. He already holds the franchise record with 314 goals. Selanne has gotten off to a bit of a rough start with four points in seven games, but it appears that he is starting to round into shape which marks him as a potential difference maker the rest of the season.
Brent Seabrook, D, Chicago BlackhawksSunday 2/17, 9:10 PM CT
Brent Seabrook has signed a 3-year, $10.5 million deal to continue to prowl the blueline for the Blackhawks according to TSN. Seabrook currently has a career best seven goals and is just one point from his third straight 20-point season. Seabrook also is a +12 this season, and while he may never post gaudy fantasy totals, he has a tremendous amount of value on the Hawks blueline.
Daniel Briere, C, Philadelphia FlyersSunday 2/17, 9:01 PM CT
Daniel Briere failed to score for a third straight game, and Sunday nights tilt was the fifth time in six games that he has been held pointless. Briere still has 54 points, 30 on the power-play, in 58 games, but his plus/minus (-21) is hideous and with the way he has been playing of late he should probably be on your bench for the next couple of games while the Flyers try to figure things out.
Braydon Coburn, D, Philadelphia FlyersSunday 2/17, 8:57 PM CT
Braydon Coburn scored a goal and added an assist in the Flyers seventh straight loss on Sunday night. After totaling just 12 points in his first 58 games over three seasons, Coburn has broken out this year to the tune of 26 points in 55 games for the Flyers. Add in his 50 PIM and he is quickly becoming a possible 4th defensemen in very deep leagues.
Andrei Markov, D, Montreal CanadiensSunday 2/17, 8:54 PM CT
Andrei Markov dished out three assists on Sunday night in Montreal's 5-3 victory over the reeling Flyers. Markov is now up to 45 points, his third straight season of at least 42, as he shoots for his first 50-point season. Markov continues to be one of the least discussed top-flight offensive defensemen in the league and he should continue to be a point scoring machine, especially with the man-advantage (7g, 19a).
Alexei Kovalev, RW, Montreal CanadiensSunday 2/17, 8:51 PM CT
Alexei Kovalev scored a goal and added two assists in the Canadiens 5-3 victory over the Flyers. Kovalev continues to be one of the league's biggest surprises this year as he is now up to 27 goals, just three away from his first 30-goal season since 2001-02. Kovalev has also been hotter than a firecracker of late with five goals and eight assists in just nine February games.
Pascal Leclaire, G, Columbus Blue JacketsSunday 2/17, 8:44 PM CT
Pascal Leclaire allowed five goals on Sunday night, the first time he has allowed more than two goals in five starts as he lost his 12th game of the season. Everyone has nights like this and Leclaire, who entered the game with a 2.09 GAA, certainly can be forgiven for one bad outing amidst a string of wonderful work this year though his GAA has ballooned to 3.15 in his last seven games.
Rick Nash, LW, Columbus Blue JacketsSunday 2/17, 8:35 PM CT
Rick Nash scored the Blue Jackets only goal on Sunday night, his 31st overall and fourth shortie of the year. Nash seems to love playing the Blues as he has six goals in six games against them this season. Nash also has a point in 4-straight games (3g,3a). Nash continues to beat goalies with his third 30-goal season in four years as one of the top scoring LW in the league.
Eric Brewer, D, St. Louis BluesSunday 2/17, 8:31 PM CT
Eric Brewer recorded a career-high four assists in the Blues 4-1 victory over the Blue Jackets. Brewer entered the game with only 14 assists in 52 games so this point explosion was totally out of nowhere. Brewer continues to be a fringe blueliner only worthy of starting when your regulars are out of the lineup, though he does have 19 points and 59 PIM so far this season with eight points in his last eight games.
Brad Boyes, RW, St. Louis BluesSunday 2/17, 8:27 PM CT
Brad Boyes scored his 31st goal of the season to snap a 5-game point drought on Sunday night. Boyes is the Blues first 30-goal scorer since Keith Tkachuk had 33 in 2003-04, and his 31 goals in 58 games this season almost match the 42 goals he scored in his first 163 games with stops in San Jose and Boston. A former first-round pick, Boyes has finally lived up to that hype while producing a tremendous goal total from a player likely taken very late in most pools.
Thomas Vanek, LW, Buffalo SabresSunday 2/17, 8:04 PM CT
Thomas Vanek scored the Sabres lone goal on Sunday night, his seventh goal in his last six games. Vanek is now up to 22 goals after a terrible start to the season, but he is still almost certain to fall short of last year's total of 43 markers. Almost as bad is his current plus/minus of (-2), a full 49 worse than last years mark (+47). Vanek should be able to be a productive player the rest of the season as he does have five game-winners and 10 power-play goals already, so you might still target him in a potential trade if you need help on the LW.
Ryan Miller, G, Buffalo SabresSunday 2/17, 7:59 PM CT
Ryan Miller, a game after allowing four goals on 11 shots, allowed three goals on 24 shots to the Penguins in a 4-1 loss. Miller, who is still 8-2-1 in his last 11 games, was bound to slow a bit as he was on an unsustainable pace. Still, he has allowed more than three goals only once in his last 12 games, so he is keeping the Sabres in every game in which he plays.
Ty Conklin, G, Detroit Red WingsSunday 2/17, 7:55 PM CT
Ty Conklin was impressive yet again as he stopped 36 of 37 shots to earn his 15th victory of the season on Sunday night. Marc-Andre Fleury appears about ready to rejoin the Penguins, but Conklin doesn't appear too keen on sliding back into the backup role without a fight. Given the fact that he is now 15-4-3 with a SV% of .932 means the team will have to think long and hard about how to split the goaltending duties the rest of the way.
Evgeni Malkin, C, Pittsburgh PenguinsSunday 2/17, 7:49 PM CT
Evgeni Malkin continued his torrid pace with another goals and an assist on Sunday night in the Penguins 4-1 victory over the Sabres. Malkin has scored a point in 8-straight games during which time he has six multi-point games and 19 points overall. How do you spell fantasy all-star? M-A-L-K-I-N. Malkin needs only eight points the rest of the way to surpass his 85 point total from his rookie season.
Lauri Tukonen, RW, Tampa Bay LightningSunday 2/17, 6:35 PM CT
Lauri Tukonen was recalled on Sunday from the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL while the Kings sent downn Brian Boyle to open up a roster spot according to an AP report. Tukonen, the 11th overall pick in 2004, had 19 points in 38 games before his recall and will look to inject some offense into a Kings team that has lost five of its last 10 games.
Sergei Fedorov, C, Washington CapitalsSunday 2/17, 6:19 PM CT
Sergei Fedorov was finally activated from the injured list where he had been since January 17th when he suffered a concussion. To make room on the squad, the team demoted Joakin Lindstrom according to the AP. Fedorov has eight goals and 19 points in 46 games this season for the Blue Jackets though rumors are circulating that the team might move him prior to the league's trade deadline.
Niklas Hagman, LW, Toronto Maple LeafsSunday 2/17, 5:45 PM CT
Niklas Hagman scored the game-winning goal on Sunday, his 21st goal of the season, in the Stars 1-0 victory over the Wings. Hagman's 21 goals and 33 points are already career-high's marking him as one of the better waiver-wire/late round pickup's this season.
Martin Havlat, RW, Chicago BlackhawksSunday 2/17, 5:40 PM CT
Martin Havlat scored the game-winning goal on Sunday in Chicago's 2-1 victory over the Avalanche. In eight games on the month, Havlat has totaled two goals and five assists, but as always, he is about as risky a play as any top level talent considering his propensity to find his way to the doctors office.
Brian Rafalski, D, Detroit Red WingsSunday 2/17, 5:31 PM CT
Brian Rafalski missed another game on Sunday because of his injured groin, though he hopes to be able to return to action on Monday night to face the Avalanche according to a report on NHL.com. Rafalski has been one of the top-5 defensemen in the NHL virtually all season, he has 46 points and is a +20 in 59 games, and along with Nicklas Lidstrom gives the Wings a lethal duo on the blueline.
Sergei Zubov, D, Dallas StarsSunday 2/17, 5:27 PM CT
Sergei Zubov is back skating with the team though there is still no set timetable for his return to the lineup from groin and foot injuries according to NHL.com. Zubov has been out since January 17th, and with Philipe Boucher (shoulder) out of action, it's a minor miracle that the Stars have been able to go 9-1 in their last 10 games.
Jimmy Howard, G, Detroit Red WingsSunday 2/17, 5:25 PM CT
Jimmy Howard stopped 30 of 31 shots on Sunday as the Red Wings lost their season worst sixth straight game 1-0. Howard was spectacular throughout and considering that Osgood has lost his last four starts we wouldn't be surprised at all to see Howard get the team's next start against Colorado on Monday.
Chris Drury, C, New York RangersSunday 2/17, 5:21 PM CT
Chris Drury scored a goal and added an assist in the Rangers 3-1 victory over the Sharks on Sunday. Drury now has five game-winning goals on the year and he leads the blueshirts with 19 goals including seven in his last nine games. Drury continues to be one of the most clutch performers in the league, and he is just one goal from his eighth 20-goal season in nine years.
Marty Turco, G, Dallas StarsSunday 2/17, 5:16 PM CT
Marty Turco stopped all 28 shots he faced on Sunday to earn the 32nd shutout of his career in the Stars 1-0 victory over the Red Wings. Turco is now 6-1 with only 11 goals allowed in seven games for a 1.56 GAA in February signaling and end to those foolish few who were calling for more playing to be given to backup Mike Smith.
Patrick Marleau, C, San Jose SharksSunday 2/17, 5:12 PM CT
Patrick Marleau missed his third straight game due to an injured groin, but he is traveling with the team and did take part in the team's gameday skate around signaling that a return to the lineup is close. Marleau has been awful this year with only 10 goals and 28 points in 55 games, so hopefully his time off will allow him to clear his head and return with the old fire that he used to average 33 goals and 82 points the past two seasons.
Patrick Lalime, G, Buffalo SabresSunday 2/17, 2:56 PM CT
Patrick Lalime turned away 21 of 22 shots on Sunday to earn a 2-1 win over the Avalanche. He is 6-2 since the start of the calendar year.
James Wisniewski, D, Chicago BlackhawksSunday 2/17, 2:45 PM CT
James Wisniewski notched two assists in Sunday's win over the Avalanche. He now has five assists and one goal over the last four games. Wisniewski, who turns 24 in a few days, is having a career year thus far, and he may be someone worth taking a look at in fantasy leagues.
Jonathan Cheechoo, RW, San Jose SharksSunday 2/17, 2:41 PM CT
Jonathan Cheechoo scored the team's only goal in Sunday's loss to the Rangers. He now has five goals and seven total points over seven games in February. Cheechoo has generally had a disappointing season, but a strong finish could make up for lost time.
Henrik Lundqvist, G, New York RangersSunday 2/17, 2:37 PM CT
Henrik Lundqvist has had a nice four days. He signed a contract extension on Thursday and picked up back-to-back wins on Saturday and Sunday. Lundqvist saved 29 of 30 shots against the Sharks in the second contest.
Ryan Callahan, RW, New York RangersSunday 2/17, 2:33 PM CT
Ryan Callahan scored twice against the Sharks on Sunday, including an empty-netter with two seconds left. Callahan also scored on Saturday and on February 7, meaning four of his five goals for the season have come in this month. The 22-year-old has some value in keeper leagues.
Johan Franzen, C, Detroit Red WingsSunday 2/17, 12:02 PM CT
Red Wings coach Mike Babcock has shuffled his lines and moved Johan Franzen to the top unit, where he'll play alongside Pavel Datsyuk and Tomas Holmstrom. Valtteri Filppula moves from the first to the second line, the Detroit Free Press notes.
Jimmy Howard, G, Detroit Red WingsSunday 2/17, 11:57 AM CT
The Red Wings are shaking things up, beginning with their goalie. Jimmy Howard will start on Sunday against the Stars, the Detroit Free Press reports. "We weren't keeping it out of our net. And so, Howie's done a good job. Now, starting is different than filling in. So, it'll be interesting to see how he does," coach Mike Babcock explains.
Paul Stastny, C, Colorado AvalancheSunday 2/17, 11:49 AM CT
Paul Stastny (appendectomy) remained out of practice on Saturday, although he skated after the session. His return date is not known, the Ticker reports.
Fedor Tyutin, D, Columbus Blue JacketsSunday 2/17, 11:44 AM CT
Fedor Tyutin signed a long-term contract extension on Sunday. Terms were not disclosed. Goalie Henrik Lundqvist and defenseman Dan Girardi also signed long-term deals over the last four days.
Nikolai Khabibulin, G, Chicago BlackhawksSunday 2/17, 11:08 AM CT
Nikolai Khabibulin (knee) practiced on Saturday, but he is not ready to return. Patrick Lalime will start on Sunday, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Tim Connolly, C, Buffalo SabresSunday 2/17, 11:02 AM CT
Tim Connolly may not be able to suit up on Sunday due to lingering groin and hip ailments. He played only four and one-half minutes on Saturday, and he may need to consider surgery. "It's not the possibility we're looking forward to but we can't rule that out," head coach Lindy Ruff tells the Buffalo News. "It could be that it stays where it's at, that the pain remains fairly consistent. If that happens, he just goes on and tries to get [the surgery] done after the season."
Jeff Taffe, LW, Pittsburgh PenguinsSunday 2/17, 10:59 AM CT
Jeff Taffe expects to play on Sunday despite busting his nose on Thursday. He practiced on Saturday. "I passed all those tests with flying colors," Taffe tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh PenguinsSunday 2/17, 10:51 AM CT

Marcel Hossa, RW, Phoenix CoyotesSunday 2/17, 6:55 AM CT
