Evgeni Malkin, C, Pittsburgh PenguinsTuesday 2/19, 9:48 PM CT
Evgeni Malkin had the go ahead assist to help the Pittsburgh Penguins erase a two-goal deficit in the third period for a 3-2 win over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night. Malkin now has 79 points to move ahead of fellow Russian Alexander Ovechkin for the top spot in league scoring.

Ryan Malone netted two pucks in the final four minutes as the Pittsburgh Penguins erased a two-goal third-period deficit for a 3-2 win over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night. Malone now has 35 points on the season, 19 of those coming by goals.
Lukas Krajicek, D, Tampa Bay LightningTuesday 2/19, 3:44 PM CT
Lukas Krajicek will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery this week, according to TSN.ca. Krajicek injured the shoulder when he was checked by the Blues' Keith Tkachuk on Jan. 23. "He had a problem with that shoulder four years ago," Krajicek's agent, Peter Svoboda said. "I guess they have to go in to find out how serious it is."
Andy Sutton, D, New York IslandersTuesday 2/19, 3:39 PM CT
The hamstring injury that Andy Sutton suffered Monday will cause him to miss 4-6 weeks of action, according to TSN.ca. An MRI revealed the defenseman suffered a partial tear. The Islanders recalled defenceman Drew Fata from Bridgeport of the AHL to replace Sutton on the roster.
Jaroslav Modry, D, Philadelphia FlyersTuesday 2/19, 3:35 PM CT
The Flyers acquired Jaroslav Modry from the Kings Tuesday in exchange for a 2008 third-round pick, according to TSN.ca. With Derian Hatcher, Rory Fitzpatrick and Mike Rathje banged up, Philly needed some depth on the blueline. Modry hasn't been a fantasy factor the last two seasons, though.
Peter Schaefer, LW, Boston BruinsTuesday 2/19, 12:15 PM CT
Peter Schaefer practiced Monday but said he didn't think he'd be ready for any of the next three games, according to the Boston Globe. He's missed the last four games with a contusion on his shin.
Brian Rolston, LW, New Jersey DevilsTuesday 2/19, 12:12 PM CT
Brian Rolston will play Tuesday after missing Sunday's game with the flu, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. Rolston has nine goals in his last 11 games, so you'll certainly want up put him in your lineup.
Joni Pitkanen, D, Carolina HurricanesTuesday 2/19, 12:06 PM CT
Joni Pitkanen practiced Monday and appears to be a go for Tuesday's contest, according to the Edmonton Journal. Pitkanen missed Saturday's game with a hip flexor injury.

Niklas Kronwall, out with a clavicle injury, continues to practice without contact. His return date is unclear, though it's unlikely he'll be able to play this weekend, according to the Detroit News.
Dominik Hasek, G, Detroit Red WingsTuesday 2/19, 11:59 AM CT
Dominik Hasek hopes to return to practice before the Wings head out on their road trip this weekend. The Dominator has been out since Feb. 9 with a hip flexor injury. "This week, I hope I can start to practice, that's my goal," Hasek told the Detroit News. "I want to go on the ice in the next few days and see how it feels, but I definitely feel better than one week ago - much stronger." Chris Osgood will continue to get the call while Hasek is out.
Nicklas Lidstrom, D, Detroit Red WingsTuesday 2/19, 11:50 AM CT
The Red Wings are saying for now that Nicklas Lidstrom is just out indefinitely. He'll be evaluated shortly to determine the extent of the knee injury he suffered Monday night. "I don't know if he's out a week or 10 days, but he's got something mild on the inside of his knee," coach Mike Babcock said in the Detroit News. "It didn't sound like anything major, and we needed to freshen him up anyway." It doesn't sound as if this is anything serious, but any missed time for Lidstrom really hurts his fantasy owners.
Jason Williams, RW, Atlanta ThrashersTuesday 2/19, 11:44 AM CT
Jason Williams is hoping to return to the lineup Wednesday, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. He's been out since November while recovering from groin surgery. Williams was playing well before getting hurt. Hopefully he'll be able tor return to form in short order.

"He'll be in a splint for a week to 10 days, then we'll see how he is," coach Denis Savard said in the Chicago Sun-Times. Perreault has been useless in fantasy this year - unless you're in a league that rewards heavily for faceoff percentage.
Bryce Salvador, D, New Jersey DevilsTuesday 2/19, 11:21 AM CT
Bryce Salvador skated Monday after sitting out Sunday's contest with back spasms. It appears as though he'll return to the lineup tonight. "I was really encouraged," Salvador said in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "The best way to explain it is like a charley horse in my back. It's now at the point where I can play with it." Salvador is a solid plus-13 this year for the Bluenote, but he offers little else in fantasy.

Anze Kopitar failed to register a point on Monday night as the Kings were shutout by the Coyotes. Anze may have 25 goals, with 11 on the power-play, and 55 points overall in 62 games, but that ghastly (-16) rating is holding him back from being the all-around fantasy force that he could be.
Mikael Tellqvist, G, Phoenix CoyotesTuesday 2/19, 12:10 AM CT
Mikael Tellqvist, making a rare start, stopped 34 of 34 shots on Monday night to earn the shutout for the Coyotes. Tellqvist upped his record to 8-5-0 on the year with a strong SV% of .918 in his supporting role of Ilya Bryzgalov.

Radim Vrbata scored a goal and added two assists in the Coyotes 4-0 win over the Kings in Wayne Gretzky's 100th victory behind the bench. Don't look now but Vrbata is up to 27 goals on the year, which is actually one more than Marian Hossa if you need a comparison to show how well Vrbata is doing this season.
