Dan Ellis, G, Nashville PredatorsTuesday 3/11, 10:13 PM CT
Nashville goalie Dan Ellis stopped 40 shots in a 1-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks this evening. This was a fine performance for a goalie that appears to be on the rise. One of those goals had to be reviewed and was nearly revoked, but Ellis should be commended for an strong effort.
Mats Sundin, C, Toronto Maple LeafsTuesday 3/11, 9:55 PM CT
Mats Sundin scored his 32nd goal of the season, bringing the crafty veteran to a grand total of 75 points on the season. Martin Biron, G, Philadelphia FlyersTuesday 3/11, 9:51 PM CT
In a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, goalie Martin Biron recorded a whopping 51 saves in an attempt to keep the Philadelphia Flyers in contention. The Flyers scored 1:12 minutes into the third period to go up 3-0 on a night when Philly's offense was all but absent, but a late-game flurry allowed the Maple Leafs to tie it up as Biron wore down. A Pavel Kubina goal slip by in the OT period and the game was lost.
Chris Chelios, D, Detroit Red WingsTuesday 3/11, 9:50 PM CT
As expected, Chris Chelios was back in action for the Red Wings on Tuesday. He played 13 minutes and his only stat was a lone shot on goal. Chelios had missed the previous six games with a small chip on his fibula.
Rick DiPietro, G, New York IslandersTuesday 3/11, 9:45 PM CT
Islander goalie Rick DiPietro allowed eight goals on 44 shots in New York's 8-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. DiPietro had allowed just two goals in his previous three games against the Lightning this season, all wins. Tonight he was battered with shots and failed to maintain any semblance of composure.
Carey Price, G, Montreal CanadiensTuesday 3/11, 9:44 PM CT
Carey Price stopped all 38 shots he faced on Tuesday to pick up his second straight shutout. The fifth overall pick in the 2005 draft turned away 20 shots in the first period alone and now is 5-2 since taking over the top netminding job for the Habs after Cristobal Huet was shipped off to Washington.
Vincent Lecavalier, C, Tampa Bay LightningTuesday 3/11, 9:40 PM CT
Vincent Lecavalier scored three goals, leading his Tampa Bay Lightning to an impressive 8-4 win over the New York Islanders. Lecavalier entered the game with 33 goals and 81 total points, easily ranking as one of the game's top offensive commodities. Tonight he rewards fantasy owners with the hat trick.
David Jones, RW, Colorado AvalancheTuesday 3/11, 9:10 PM CT
Rookie David Jones picked up his first NHL goal during Tuesday's game. Jones, like teammate Joe Sakic ended up with two assists and three points in the contest. Jones has his work cut out for him to catch up to Sakic's 620 career goals.
Dan Cleary, RW, Detroit Red WingsTuesday 3/11, 8:55 PM CT
Dan Cleary has inked a five-year, $14 million contract extension to stick with the Red Wings, according to the AP. "He’s 29 and we really think he’s coming into his prime," general manager Ken Holland said. After scoring 20 goals and 40 points in 71 games last season, Cleary as exactly matched those numbers in just 57 games this campaign. Unfortunately, that may be where his regular-season numbers end, as he's out until at least the end of the month with a broken jaw.

Alex Burrows, LW, Vancouver CanucksTuesday 3/11, 12:23 AM CT
Alex Burrows had two assists on Monday night, his third straight game of two points. Given the fact that Burrows has only 29 points on the year, 3-straight two point outings have to be seen like a gift from the gods, so if you are riding him for the PIM (131), be happy with the recent hot streak on the offensive side of the puck but don't plan on it continuing.
Dan Cloutier, G, Tuesday 3/11, 12:20 AM CT
Dan Cloutier stopped 38 of 40 shots on Monday night though it wasn't enough as the Kings fell to the Canucks 2-1 in OT. Cloutier really needed a strong outing given the recent hot play of rookie Erik Ersberg since Dan had allowed at least four goals in three straight starts before tonight. Ersberg still appears to be in the lead for starts, but Cloutier is the veteran and he was borderline brilliant on Monday which won't hurt his chances of playing at all.
Ryan Kesler, C, Vancouver CanucksTuesday 3/11, 12:18 AM CT
Ryan Kesler scored the tying goal with less than three minutes left in regulation before scoring the game-winner on a tip in at :46 seconds of the OT in the Canucks 2-1 victory over the Kings. Kesler is now one goal away from his first 20-goal season though with just 33 points, and only five on the power-play, there is no team in the fantasy universe that he should be starting on.
