Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - The Kansas City Royals traded shortstop Angel Berroa and cash to the Los Angeles Dodgers for minor league infielder Juan Rivera on Friday.

The 30-year-old Berroa batted .291 with 10 home runs, 27 RBI and scored 34 times in 51 games for Triple-A Omaha this season.

Rivera owns a .248 career average with eight homers and 71 RBI in five minor league seasons.
