Jupiter, FL (Sports Network) - The St. Louis Cardinals signed 17 players to one-year contracts, the club announced Saturday, including outfielder Skip Schumaker and infielder Brendan Ryan.

Also signed were pitchers Mitchell Boggs, Jaime Garcia, Blake Hawksworth, Josh Kinney, Charlie Manning, Kyle McClellan, Jason Motte, Chris Perez and Matt Scherer; infielders Brian Barden, Tyler Greene and Jarrett Hoffpauir; and outfielders Brian Barton, Joe Mather, and Nick Stavinoha.

Schumaker played in 153 games for the Cardinals last season, splitting time between all three outfield positions. He batted .302 with eight home runs and 46 runs batted in.

Ryan batted .244 with 10 RBI in 80 games for St. Louis in 2008.
