Hometown Hero: Kyle Busch wins in Las Vegas Las Vegas, NV (Sports Network) - Kyle Busch hit the jackpot in his hometown Sunday as he won the Shelby 427 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Busch held off Richard Childress Racing teammates Clint Bowyer and Jeff Burton in a three-lap shootout to the finish to give him and team owner Joe Gibbs their first victory at Las Vegas. Busch won the pole Friday, but had to start from the rear of the field due to an engine change. He grabbed the lead from Burton on lap 229 and took command from there. The victory was Busch's 13th career Sprint Cup Series victory. Bowyer finished second, followed Burton, David Reutimann and Bobby Labonte. More details to follow. |
