San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - The Washington Wizards announced Friday that guard DeShawn Stevenson underwent successful surgery to repair a herniated disc.

Stevenson has missed 29 games this season due to lower back pain and is averaging 6.6 points and 3.1 assists per game in 32 contests. He will begin his rehabilitation in two weeks, but won't be able to resume basketball activity for another three-to-four months.

The 23rd overall pick of the 2000 draft by Utah, Stevenson is averaging 8.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 581 career games with Utah, Orlando and Washington. Stevenson, who turns 28 next month, is in his third season with the Wizards and had played in all 82 games in each of the previous three seasons.
