Falcons re-sign DE Davis to four-year deal Flowery Branch, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Falcons agreed to terms with defensive end Chauncey Davis on a four-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. "Chauncey will continue to add toughness and consistency to our defense," said General Manager Thomas Dimitroff. "We are always pleased to extend our core players who represent well on and off the field." The four-year veteran registered 38 tackles, four sacks and three fumble recoveries in 16 games last season. Originally a fourth-round selection by Atlanta in the 2005 NFL Draft out of Florida State, Davis has 147 tackles to go along with eight sacks, one pick and seven fumble recoveries in 64 career games, including 10 starts. |
