Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Free agent quarterback Dan Orlovsky signed with the Houston Texans on Sunday.

Terms were not released but the Houston Chronicle reported the deal to be for three years at $9.1 million, including a $2.4 million signing bonus.

Orlovsky started seven games, including the final three, for the 0-16 Detroit Lions last season. The Connecticut product appeared in 10 games overall, passing for 1,616 yards and eight touchdowns, along with eight interceptions.

The Lions made Orlovsky their fifth-round selection in the 2005 NFL Draft. He appeared in only two games for Detroit prior to the 2008 campaign.
