San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - The San Diego Chargers waived wide receiver Rashaun Woods on Tuesday and claimed receiver Gerran Walker off waivers from Indianapolis.

Walker earned All-Patriot League first-team honors in his senior year at Lehigh University, collecting 38 catches for 608 yards and four touchdowns. He also returned kicks for Lehigh with 29 returns for 702 yards (24.2-yard average). The 5-foot-9, 188-pounder signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent following the draft.

Woods was drafted 31st overall in the 2004 NFL Draft by San Francisco. After recording just seven catches that year with the 49ers, Woods spent the entire 2005 campaign on injured reserve with torn ligaments in his thumb.

The Chargers acquired Woods in an April trade with 49ers for cornerback Sammy Davis. The receiver had missed time in training camp with a hamstring injury.
