Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - The Anaheim Ducks acquired center Erik Christensen from the Atlanta Thrashers on Wednesday in exchange for center Eric O'Dell.

Christensen was in his first full season with the Thrashers after coming over in a trade from Pittsburgh last year in a deadline deal that sent Marian Hossa to the Penguins. In 47 games with Atlanta this year, the 25-year-old has five goals and 14 assists.

A third-round pick in 2002 by Pittsburgh, Christensen has 40 goals and 49 assists in 200 career games.

O'Dell is an 18-year-old center who was drafted in the second round of the 2008 draft by the Ducks. He has skated in 59 games with Sudbury of the Ontario Hockey League this season, totaling 30 goals and 29 assists.
