Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Pavol Demitra and Steve Bernier had the tying and go-ahead goals 28 seconds apart late in the second period, as the Vancouver Canucks went on to a 4-2 win over the Minnesota Wild.

Alex Burrows had a pair of goals on a landmark day, as earlier Tuesday, he agreed to a four-year contract extension with Vancouver. The goals increased his already career-high total this season to 18.

Roberto Luongo faced only 19 shots, and stopped 17 of them for the Canucks, who have won three in a row and seven of their last eight games.

Henrik Sedin had a pair of assists for Vancouver.

"We're not playing a whole lot different than we did during the losing streak, but it's just confidence," said Sedin. "We're working hard and we have a lot of players back which makes a whole lot of difference."

Dan Fritsche and Marek Zidlicky had the goals for the Wild, who have lost four in a row. Niklas Backstrom allowed all four goals on 32 shots in defeat.

"We need to make a total 360 here and figure this thing out," said Fritsche. "We have three more big games ahead of us and need to win every single one of them."

Also on Tuesday, another four-year contract was signed, this one by Backstrom. Minnesota re-signed the goaltender to a four-year deal worth $24 million.

Fritsche got Minnesota on the board just 1:35 into the game, and Zidlicky's power-play tally at 7:26 made it a 2-0 Wild lead. But Burrows got his first goal at 9:57 to bring Vancouver within one, and it remained a 2-1 game into the first intermission.

The score was static well into the second period, but toward the end Demitra and Bernier scored a pair of quick goals to put the Canucks in front.

With 2:04 left, Demitra snapped a shot from the right circle near the slot, getting it past Backstrom to tie the game.

Only 28 seconds later, Bernier gathered a loose puck in the left circle and put the disc in net for a 3-2 Vancouver lead.

The Canucks held the lead into the third period, and with 6:57 remaining, Burrows gave Vancouver some breathing room with his second goal of the contest.

Luongo made eight saves in the third period to seal the win.
